NUPFC affiliated to NCDV

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome the National Union of Professional Foster Carers NUPFC), who have affiliated to NCDV.  NUPFC is the first government approved and certified trade union for supporting and protecting foster carers. The work that NUPFC do is vital in making sure that foster carers are supported and have their rights and status respected.  Many foster carers are responsible for taking care of children who have been removed from their families as a result of domestic abuse. These children are vulnerable and have seen things that no child should have to witness. They carry feelings of guilt and sadness, their loyalties divided.  The foster carer not only has to keep the child safe. They also need to be a listening ear, ‘friend’ and a therapist! Not an easy task. NCDV respects the work NUPFC are doing and are delighted they have chosen to be affiliated to us”
